Have you been trying to get pregnant but haven't been so successful? I'm Dr. Jill from Tampa,
Florida telling you how to deal with the struggle of trying to conceive. Getting pregnant is
not easy. I usually tell people unless you are 14 and don't want to be pregnant it takes
a while. It just doesn't happen in a heartbeat. So let's start, how do we deal with this?
Well you can do a couple of things. I usually tell people that if you are less than 35 without
any major risk factors, it's o'kay to try for about 6 months to a year. This means you
are actively trying around the time of ovulation. How do I know if I'm ovulating? Well based
on a 28 day cycle most women generally ovulated about day 14. That way I recommend starting
having timed intercourse at about day 11 every other day through about day 17. This will
improve your chances to make sure that that *** meets the egg. After a year if you have
been having timed planned intercourse and you are still not pregnant, you can talk to
your health care professional and they can work up problems to see why is she not conceiving
and why is she not getting pregnant? If you are over the age of 35 your ovulation decreases
and you're not going to be getting pregnant as fast so I usually tell them after about
3 to 4 months if you haven't gotten pregnant go see you health provider sooner and we can
do things to help work you up and find why you are not getting pregnant and possibly
do things to help you get pregnant. I'm Dr. Jill from Tampa, Florida telling you how to
deal with the struggle in trying to conceive. Good luck in pregnancy.
