I did a lot of research about Webster University to just kind of see
what experiences other people had, whether it was a user-friendly program,
what kind of support you actually had. Being from Hawaii, it is a 5 hour time difference.
I needed to make sure that if I wasn't getting an online connection,
or if I was having a hard time with something, that I could get immediate support
and I always did. Webster was fantastic with that.
It is a wide variety of
classmates
with various backgrounds
and certainly opinions vary.
It just made the class much more interesting.
It is an amazing feeling to feel like you are that
connected to the world, and you have perspectives
and the ability to
network with people and
understand what they're going through in their classrooms and how they are
doing things, and
bring that into your own experiences.
It is like a big
melting pot and we all kind of get a great experience from one another.
I actually lived in three different states when I completed my master's degree program
and so to be able to
still continue on and feel like I wasn't getting rifted at any point, I could just
basically pack my bags, move to the next state, start a whole new job
and still be continuing my education without having to make any major changes, still be familiar with
the platforms and my course work and just have a continuity through the experience.
I was a little bit more shy and really didn't mingle with
the other students.
Online courses
actually give you an opportunity, not to really see the other students face-to-face,
but being able to really talk
and express yourself a little bit more.
They were going to give me an opportunity
to learn from the comfort of my home.
Online learning was a gift. I could do my homework
after taking care of my daughters
and taking care of the house, and everything else that needed to be done, and my job.
And then, come and sit down and do my homework when I decided it was
time to do it, as opposed to when I had to be in class.
You have to be committed and dedicated, but this is no different from
any other type of program.
But,
the clock is ticking!
Once you sign up
and start the program.
So it is going to take self-motivation and discipline
in order to be successful in the online program.
It's a great school! And if you are looking for an online program,
I think Webster is where you need to go.
I loved the whole experience, so I'm excited to see where life takes me next!
