This version of apron seam is for doing a dress that has knife pleats. Knife pleats
are the pleats that are sharp. Sharp pleats that start at a given point and zoom out and
they most of the time will make a rightish angle at their pleat line. And if they're
going to go, you could have knife pleats that go all in the same direction across the garment,
but with princess seams obviously if you think about it rationally, that's impossible, or
it would just, well it's not impossible. But it would just end up looking kind of stupid
if you have princess seams that make such a statement of design and then you had all
the pleats going one way. You want to center it out from the middle. So we do our knife
pleats. We start at the shoulder seam, middle of the shoulder seam and then go to the point
of your center pleat, however big you want to make it. Your princess seams are going
to make that pleat. And then you have your knife pleats jutting out from behind like
that.
