International Eduardo Gomes Airport/Manaus (state of Amazonas)
Renovation and modernisation of the Eduardo Gomes Airport are necessary
because we're talking about a terminal from the 1970s.
A change in the aircraft mix and new demands for Manaus had already been identified,
particularly for international flights.
When ready, the airport's capacity will almost treble.
This project is bringing a great improvement for the airport,
dividing it in two levels: arrivals and departures.
Today, practically all work related to the project has started and some areas have been finished already.
Some parts of the project will be delivered to the population in September.
All renovation work is being done while the airport is in operation.
No flight has been delayed due to renovation related works.
The car park has currently 772 spaces. We're increasing it to 2,670, over three times the previous capacity.
The airport's hall is also being increased.
We have more than doubled the capacity of the airport's hall, which has allowed for a mix of different shops to be provided.
Here, compliance with accessibility legislation is also noteworthy.
It is a big construction project, involving around R$ 344 million,
which is being invested to improve the quality of the facilities and the services offered.
Basically, a great airport infrastructure is being provided to the city of Manaus.
It's not just our neighbouring countries who will gain with this, as they'll have a new connection hub with Brazil.
The state of Amazonas and its municipalities will gain as a whole.
