We will cut the side pieces and front piece down to thirteen inches wide, and to do so
we must reinstall our miter gauge by removing the rip fence. This time however, the miter
fence must be turned to ninety degrees. I must measure them to thirteen inches. To measure
them you take your tape measure, attach it to one end of the board, measure down thirteen
inches, and put a mark where you want to make the cut. You must do this to all four boards.
Once all four boards have been measured you may turn on your table saw and cut the boards.
Be sure to line up the mark that you've made on the boards with the side of the piece of
wood that you want to remain thirteen inches. That is how you cut the front and back to
length.
