Hey I'm Zadi and this is Epic Fu Music!
Wait, Epic Fu music?
Yes, in case you're wondering what the new season of the Fu will bring,
it's twice a week.
Music on Mondays. Film on Thursdays.
Sweet!
And there isn't a much bigger story in music than what musicians are doing to help out
the people of Haiti after the catastrophic earthquake.
The Hope for Haiti Telethon, one of the biggest events in broadcast history,
raised 80 million dollars going directly to food, water, medical supplies and tents.
And amazingly, that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Wyclef recently released a new music video dedicated to his people in Haiti, urging us
to donate $5 to his foundation by texting YELE to 501501
Lots of other big names in music are working to help victims of the quake.
Wilco has posted two complete concert albums on their site that you can download in exchange
for donations to Oxfam or Doctors Without Borders.
And Music For Relief, founded by Linkin Park, has compiled previously unreleased music from
a bunch of major artists, also available in exchange for donations.
So can music save Haiti, or the world? Well, Music is one of those things that can inspire
us to survive disasters, and cross borders to bring us together.
You may have already heard of the incredible Playing for Change movement created by Mark
Johnson.
They record street musicians covering popular songs to find peace and commonality through
music.
It's been made into a film, but what I really love about this project are the small moments
that they captured and posted to their blog.
This impromptu concert happened in a living room in Barcelona with musicians from Ghana
and Angola.

And now it can be enjoyed by the entire world. Welcome to the future.
I recently posted a question on Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook and MIX asking you to tell me about
an album or song that changed your life.
You told me stories publicly and privately that were amazing.
Alexander and Javier on Twitter said Californication by the Red Hot Chili Peppers were tied to
first loves and best friends.
On Tumblr, KL7 said The Who's Tommy opened up a whole new world of classic rock music
to a Brooklynite.
On Facebook Julien said Paul Simon's Graceland was the soundtrack to the first years of his
life.
And on MIX LordMMX from Slovakia said that he was never the same after listening to Rise
Against by The Sufferer & The Witness.
Let's keep this going in the MIX discussion. We'll point out more in future shows.
If you've been waiting for a music website to show you a whole new way to find music,
wait no more.
TheSixtyOne.com, a music site we covered two years ago, just launched a fantastic new site
where you can go on quests to discover music.
It's remarkably visual, and it feels like a new experience when you use it.
And, artists who use thesixtyone to sell their albums make at least $7 per sale, which is
much better than any record deal.
Alright, time for us to catch the train to awesometown, but we'll leave you with Jam
Session 2.0,
8 people with 5 instruments from 4 Continents speaking 3 languages for 1 song.
See you on epicfu.com!
