Hello everyone, and welcome to my Custom Face tutorial for ArmA 3. Custom faces are a great
way to personalize your character and set you apart from the crowd. I'm going to show
you everything you need to know about custom faces, that includes making them, using them,
and file size limits. You'll need an image editing software of some kind for custom faces.
I personally use Gimp, however others like Photoshop and paint work as well.
First off, how do you get a custom face? IF you want to make your own face, then you'll
need to get a template. Click the annotation on your screen for a great template to use.
Save that image, and open it in your editing software. If you don't for lack of a better
term have the skills to make your own face, search the net for premade faces, there's
lots of cool ones out there. For the purpose of making your own face, I'll be using my
custom face I've been working on. Once you've made your face,
save the image as .JPG file, and call it face. File size does come in to play here. Any file
size will work in Single Player, however if your face is above 100kb, it will not work
in multiplayer. So, when saving, adjust the quality of your image to get the file size
under 100kb if you plan to use it in multiplayer. Also, be aware that some servers do not allow
custom faces, but they are the minority in this case. If you've downloaded a face from
the internet, make sure it is also saved as a .JPG, named face, and has the correct file
size if you are using it in multiplayer. Now, head over to your ArmA 3 profile folder. On
Windows 7, this can be found under Documents > ArmA 3 - Other Profiles > Your Profile Name.
Drag your face in there, and launch ArmA 3. Once ArmA 3 is up, press Configure, Profile,
and then select Custom Face from the face choosing menu. There you go, you
now have a custom face. One more thing you should be aware of. Using a custom face will
result in the rest of your skin becoming purple. Bohemia hasn't released a fix for this, but
hopefully they will show some support of the custom faces in the future. If you found this
