Greetings viewers and subscribers.
First off, I apologize for not posting a video in a really long time. The work pace was really
slow during this month. The good news is that the work progression is finally picking itself
back up together and will hopefully lead to more frequent updates.
To start things off in this update, there have many changes made to the explosions and
knockback physics.
You will see the new particle and explosions effects left by the rockets. The original
explosion effect was absolutely basic, and didn't look much of a powerful explosion.
After experimenting with the Detonator asset, the
explosion effect has been drastically improved.
One of the previous update videos mentioned that you had to hold down the C button to
increase your character's knockback. This was a slightly
weird feature and might be confusing for new players. Now if you want increased knockback,
your character needs to be in the air. Generally, you gain more knockback vulerability
while in the air in most FPS games. This new change of knockback physics will make more
sense to newer players now.
The change of knockback physics means it has also affected the directional influence of
your character's knockback. If you saw in one of
the update videos, your character can actually get
pushed upwards when getting hit by the explosion at point blank range. The physics was
absolutely alienating, and unpolished. Now your character gets knocked back in the proper
direction based on where you got hit by the explosion.
Lastly, the Drone's pistols got a visual upgrade. The original pistol models were very
unappealing and very basic. The new pistol models will hopefully give you the feeling
that you are actually using laser pistols.
