For the last 3 days Russian military has been blocking the (Ukrainian) military installation #24 in Yevpatoriya, where two military units are stationed.
Russian military don't want to let through the checkpoint even the residents of the local town.
Local residents have demanded from the Russian side either to lay down the weapon or to leave the town. To which demand one of the military have responded that such decisions are made by the commander of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia.
Russian military promised to deliver the demands of the local residents to the command and to give the response at 7 p.m.. While the local residents left the site, representatives of the "Russian Unity" and Kossaks have arrived there.
Specifically how long have you been staying here, 3 days? Right?
You... well.. people live in fear here. Let's remove either the weapons and leave well.. nothing is needed (from you). At least reduce the movement (of the Russian military). So that there will be no movement of military with weapons. Do you understand?
(female voice) You came here to protect. You came to protect. You are not protecting from us, are you?
(Russian military speaking) Listen to me, please. I will answer you.
at the moment here are present two military units.
one of the commanders of these two military units have kindly (good-naturedly) allowed us to live in his disposition/base.
Civilian speaking: if he permitted you to live in this barrack, right?
Then live in the barrack, stay here.
Although of course it is preferred that you leave.
But as I understand no one will do it now (meaning leaving).
Russian Military: Without the command/orders no.
Civilian: Then let us agree that your people will stay inside the barracks.
Russian Military: Greetings, Colonel.
Ukrainian law enforcement: I am the representative of the Ukrainian law enforcement.
Russian Military: Pleasure to meet you. Ukrainian law enforcement: Allow me to ask who are you
(Russian Military: I am Sergey, the Major. We have already met before.
Ukrainian law enforcement: Right, but what is your organization? Proper introduction?
Russian Military: What do you want to talk about with me?
Ukrainian law enforcement: I want to introduce you to the people.
Russian Military: I have already introduced myself.
Ukrainian law enforcement: Just the Major? Russian Military: Yes, we are having the conversation here.
Ukrainian law enforcement: Which armed forces do you represent?
Russian Military: I am the Major Sergey
Ukrainian law enforcement: Gang formation?
(Crowd of civilians) Which armed forces? Why don't you have the insignia? Russia?
(Ukrainian law enforcement) Let us walk (there) and because the people are there residents of this town here (in this crowd) or not, friends?
(Crowd) Yes. Yes.
(Ukrainian law enforcement) Let us come and see how you live, and whether or not you are being offended in any way.
(Male civilian) They do not let us through.
(Ukrainian law enforcement) Then let's go (there), you will not object it, right? (addressing to the Russian military)
(Voice behind the camera, likely another Russian military) Everyone, don't move! Don't provoke them!
(Russian Military) Colonel, I do object it. Because let me talk to the local residents. You are provoking them.
(Ukrainian law enforcement) Why are you shouting at me?
(Russian Military) Move away (to the Ukrainian Colonel). I am not going to be conversing with you.
(Ukrainian law enforcement) Why are you shouting?
(Voice behind the camera) You are all going to become hostages now.
(Russian Major) Please, men and women, this Colonel is provoking both me and you.
(Female voice) Whom are you protecting us from?
No one speaks Ukrainian here. No one. No one. Do you understand? Here everybody speaks Russian. It doesn't make any sense that you are here to protect the Russian language. Do you understand? We had the order here until you came. Do you understand? Everything was quiet and calm here.
(Another female voice) The questions are to politicians.
Please tell, why and how, how will you tell where is the enemy? How do you identify (the enemy)? We have not seen them. We are unarmed.
(Male voice) From whom are you protecting us?
(Female voice) My husband serves at this base. I am fearing for his life and health.
(Male voice) Are you protecting us from the alien?
(Russian Major) At the moment I have strict orders from my Commander, who is located in Sevastopol, to protect this military base from possible diversion from the radical forces. And from possible taking of the weapon from this military base.
(Ukrainian male civilian) Let us schedule the meeting. The meeting with selected/few people, and we, together with the Colonel. He is the representative of government authority, I will represent the... for example, the families.
(Female voice) The representative of people. Of our people/nation.
(Russian Major) Let's (meet) at 9 p.m., Moscow time. Well. At 7. 7 pm Ukrainian time.
(TV channel reporter) We continue our program, Ukraine will use all means to protect itself from the military threat from Russia, said Igor Prokopchuk, the representative of Ukraine in the Organization for Security and Co-operation (OSCE) in Europe.
