Hello everyone, Martin here from the ESET Knowledegebase, and today I am going to help
you troubleshoot an Undocumented Serious Error when attempting to download the latest virus
signature database update in ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus.
To begin, open the main program window of your ESET product . . . and press the F5 key
on your keyboard to access advanced setup. Expand Update and click Settings.
Make sure that your ESET-issued Username and Password are entered correctly.
Click Clear next to Clear update cache and then click OK.
Restart your computer. After your computer has restarted, open your
ESET product. In the main program window, click Update, then Update now. Your ESET product
should update automatically from now on. If your issue is still unresolved, we recommend
that you uninstall and then reinstall your ESET product.
