What's up everybody I'm Chris Powell, and I want to talk to you about hydration. Now
if you ask most doctors out there they'll tell you "Well it's important you drink half
your body weight in ounces of water.". And well why? It's because water, aside from the
other macronutrients proteins, carbs and fats, it really is the most important essential
nutrient out there.
Water, it drives all the metabolic processes of the body, and so we can't survive without
water. Heck our body is 2/3 water. And so it plays such an important role in the transformation
process, because it optimizes your body's state for maximum metabolic potential. But
on top of that keep in mind that most people are actually dehydrated. We just don't know
it. The mechanism in our brain that tells us that we're thirsty. It's actually relatively
weak, and often we confuse it for hunger.
So most of the time when we're actually thirsty we'll actually reach for food instead. And
I found that especially for myself, and with all the people that I work with. When they
start hydrating themselves properly and just nourishing their body with the water that
they need. They're not hungry for the foods that they crave, and so it's one of the most
important valuable tools in the process.
