Hi! This is Bob Powell with Powell Show Goats in Brady, Texas. We are here representing
Expert Village. Today we are going to talk about in this clip places where to keep goats.
Goats are pretty smart little guys. They can get out of just about anything. It is very
important to have good pens and good fences. If you are going to raise goats, you can't
raise them on just a 5 wire barbwire fence. You will need panels like these or net fence.
It is important to have a barn or a shelter to get in from out of the weather. Especially
after they have kidded, you don't want your little kids getting cold or wet so it is important
to have a shelter with water. As a feed source for these goats, they are browsers. So where
you keep them, Oak trees are good. They eat weeds. They are not a real big grass eater.
They love acorns. A lot of people feed their goats every day like I do. Corn is an important
part of their diet. But as far as keeping one, keep them in a place where trees are
good, shade, place where they can roam and a place they can get in out of the weather.
