Hello everyone!
Today we will see how to remove the taillight
in this case of a fiat punto
mark 2
in this case, to change a bulb, we must disassemble the entire lantern
There are two screws
the first is here
while the other one is up here
and to get there we have to simply remove this cap
here's the other
we will unscrew these two screws
and then pull off the light, we will now see how
let's start with unscrewing these screws
with a key n.18
the screws are a bit 'strange, now I'll show you
I don't know how to call them
here it is
however, unscrew it with a simple hex wrench
unscrew the above one also
here it is
Now we will remove the headlight and pull it away from his seat but not all the way
because there is still the plug to disconnect obviously
here it is
this is the plug we're going to disconnect
here it is
you have to push on this point
and simply pull it off
et voila, we have the lantern in our hands
Now we will see how to replace the bulbs
After removing the headlight
we have to unscrew these 4 bolts
a small cross screwdriver is enough
ok, once you unscrew the 4 screws
simply pull off this cover
don't move it too hard because there are the bulbs inside
here it is
then, after removing the group containing all the bulbs
we locate obviously the bulb that is to be changed
in this case this one is mine to change
it is the rear fog
which burned
which bulb to buy?
of course, on the internet or even in supermarkets there are several lists with codes for each bulb
However, if you notice the codes are also written directly on the plate
next to each bulb you can find the code of the bulb to use
in this case, a fog light of the punto, we need a P21W
you see it directly on the box when you go to buy the bulbs
then, remove the bulb
In this case you have to press the bulb
turn it and pull it away
this coupling is a little strange
if it does not come off not crush the bulb
you risk breaking it and cut you
rather pull it out from underneath
this is the old bulb
to fit the new bulb
locate the two spikes
and insert the bulb in the only way in which it enters
like this
and do the reverse operation, press slightly and rotate
until it snaps
Now we're going to mount this plate on the light
I add only one thing, the bulb that I changed before
it really was not burned but it was ok
in this case I think it was a bit tarnished
especially the plate below on the contact
I just grated a little with a screwdriver
and the bulb works fine
so before replacing a bulb, check it, if it is ok it may be that the plate is simply oxidized
so just simply scratch it and the bulb just works ok
Now we are going to mount the plate
we are going to place it this way
and we are going to insert the screws
that we will tighten
and tighten
but not overtighten it
and now we're going to mount the light on the car again
of course, let's put it in the right direction
reconnect the plug
in this place
I add only one more thing
when you are dealing with electrical parts like this
it is advisable to disconnect the battery
in some cases it is almost obligatory, in cases like this
we say that it is advisable
I just haven't done it because it is not so dangerous
connecting or disconnecting a plug
However, be aware that if you do it, it won't hurt
so reconnect the plug
it is obvious that the car must be switched off
and with the key off
finally reconnect the plug
you will hear a 'clack'
when it enters into its seat
and at this point
we need to match the screws with the holes that are on the body
and the light returns to its position
just secure it correctly
let's keep it with one hand
and re-insert the bolts
put the below one also
finish to tighten with the key
do not overdo it here also
tighten it normally
refit the cover
et voilĂ , we have replaced the bulb
on our car
thanks for watching
see you next time!
