Hi i'm David Cantor with the Law Offices of David Michael Cantor.
Today I'm going to talk about Tempe City DUI's and criminal
arrest. When I say City Court, I'm talking about an arrest that was
conducted by Tempe police officer,
not by DPS, sheriff's officer, or ASU police,
specifically city cops. If you we're arrested by a Tempe police officer
you will be taken to one of three police stations. The main station is at
fifth st. east of mill at 120 East 5th Street. That's over by the
football stadium. The Apache precinct is at Apache and McClintock, just east of
McClintock,
and the Tempe South substation is at Hardy and Warner,
it's basically next to the Cardinals training facility.
If you're arrested for DUI you'll be taken there
or to a van and you'll untimately be released but when you are released
regardless of whether it's a station or a van, they're gonna tell you to show up to one
courthouse. That particular courthouse is at 140 East 5th Street
in Tempe; basically its fifth Street Myrtle.
Its kind of right next to the main police station,
next to the ASU football Stadium.
When you go there, you're going to park across the street to the south,
you gonna take your ticket in and they're gonna validate it
from the courts so you don't have to pay for the parking, so make sure you bring that
ticket with you.
When you go inside make sure your dressed appropriately with a collared
shirt or something appropriate no baseball hats
sunglasses shorts flip flops. When you get in there you're going to see one of three judges.
Mary Jo Barsetti, she's in courtroom one, Mary Jo used to be a prosecutor in the City
of Phoenix, AZ, I used to work with her
she's a very nice lady. I think she's somewhat prosecution oriented.
In courtroom number two is Tom Robinson, Tom was a prosecutor with me in city of
Phoenix, Tom's a great guy,
I think he's defense-oriented and he;s very pleasant and Mary Anne Majestic, she's in
courtroom three, she used to be a former
defense attorney but she's been there the longest, she's actually the presiding
judge over in Tempe.
She's been there about 15 years, she can be kind of gruff but she can be fair.
When you go in there you have to go to every court date, average case last
six to nine months,
that's why it's important that you hire a lawyer. if you hire us we go for you
so you're not going to miss work every month, or miss school every month going to court.
Also we know the prosecutors there we work very well with them.
If you have to get a DUI anywhere you want it to be the city of Tempe because they're best
people to deal with.
That's if they know the defense attorneys and know that they're good.
If this applies to you or a loved one and you've been arrested or charged,
simply give us a call,
we don't charge you anything to meet with us but it does take about 30 minutes,
we'll go over your case from top to bottom
and hopefully we'll find a way out of this for you and help you out.
So give us a call.
