I want to welcome everybody to our second annual trucking's top rookie award ceremony.
This program has a theme of train, retain and gain. Let's get to the moment we came
here for. It's my pleasure to introduce you to 2012's trucking's top rookie winner, Gordon
Keith Redvay from Crete Carrier Corporation. I am shocked. It's very humbling to win, I
was in great company. I honestly believe that anyone sitting out here could have won this
honor. It's just unbelievable, I feel very blessed. For drivers looking to get into the
industry, this is a very viable career. The opportunities are endless to make money, to
provide for your families, have security and stability that you can't find in a whole lot
of careers. If you're willing to work hard, be safe, the trucking industry and Crete,
Shaffer and Hunt are the way to go. Today I was fortunate enough to win $10,000 which
I'll use to pay off my son's car that I just bought. I won a bunch of great prizes from
the sponsors of this event. I can tell you that through Pilot and Flying J, I got a whole
bunch of free coffees. $1,000 worth apparently. And some 5 hour energy's which I'm sure my
friends will be looking to share. Right now I'm a member of the Patriot Fleet. The Patriot
Fleet is honoring our veterans past, present and future. I feel it's important to put our
veterans to work. That's why I'm such an advocate of Crete and of the trucking industry, I think
it's a great opportunity for them and I want to get that word out there. I'd like to thank
Crete, I'd like to thank all of the staff at Crete that made this happen, because I
know I didn't make this happen. I didn't even know there was a nomination process for this
type of thing. Jeff Dady, Mr. Ostergard, Everyone who I've had an opportunity to meet there.
I'd like to put a special shout out to my Patriot Fleet brothers, and thank them for
their support as well.
