Alright now we're going to learn the footwork for the two o'clock right turn. Let me show
you first. I'm going to do it on ladies timing. Gentlemen keep in mind you can also use this
turn but we're just going to switch the counts ok. So it's going to look like this from a
basic two, three, five, six, seven, we step one, two, three, five, six, seven. One more
time. One, two, three, five, six, seven, one, two, three, five, six, seven, ok. Breaking
it down from the back. We do our basic one, two, three, five, six, seven ok. We step forward
on one just like a normal basic. One two we're going to take the left foot and step forward,
but we're going to step forward at two o'clock. So if you imagine that this is twelve and
this is three we're going to step forward over here. The reason that we do this is because
we're dancing with our partner and if we step straight forward then we're stepping on his
feet so we want to go to the side of our partner which is at two o'clock. So this is two. We're
going to turn around and face the back on three leaving the feet where they are keeping
our weight on our right foot. As, as we turn on four and five we want to keep all the weight
on the right foot. So we turn to the right on the right foot. This is together five,
back rock six, seven. So again we step one, we pivot and turn two, three, continue turning,
together on five, back rock six, seven ok. Now while you're turning, a couple tips. You
want to stay on the balls of your feet with your knees slightly bent ok. You don't want
to try to turn flat footed. Also keep in mind that the momentum comes from the upper body
from the shoulders. It is not a paddle turn. You don't want to do that. You want to use
your shoulders to help carry you around. So as you step forward you want to take your
upper body, wind it up slightly to the left and then pull it around to the right to help
give you the momentum you need to help get around. Now if your, if the floor is sticky
or if your shoes are too grippy, you can also just step it out instead of spinning. So you
can go step two, step three, together five, six, seven. So it will look like this, one,
two, three, five, six, seven. For gentlemen you're just going to switch the counts so
it'll be one, two, three, five, six, seven, one, two, three.
