Here are your name tags we need you guys to wear them at all times, just so we know that
you are part of the program, okay. It’s really important.
I think it is normal for everybody to feel a little bit nervous but I mean the people
here are really nice you know, they really try to get to know you, so it makes you feel
right at home.
For the next couple of days we are going to give you a lot of information and it is just
to help you feel comfortable and prepared for when you start in fall. So be ready to
learn about Binghamton and know that no matter what happens we are going to make sure that
you are going to be okay while you are here. So sometimes feels a little overwhelming,
just take a deep breath, raise you hand and ask for help if you ever feel that way.
I’m kind of confused about the scheduling, so I hope they will help me with that and
what classes I need to take for my major. I don’t really know the requirements.
My schedule is pretty diverse because I tried to vary my courses because I’m not sure
what I want to do yet, what career I want to pursue. So I tried to pick different courses
to help me figure out what I’m going to do in the future.
When I first came here I thought it was a really, really big school but I kind of felt
very overwhelmed at first. But everybody here has been very helpful to me so it’s not
that hard getting around and stuff.
It’s really nice here. The buildings are so modern. Yeah, everything is so new. Especially
the athletics facilities are so very nice.
I checked out a little bit about the dorms and at first I was kind of thinking, I have
heard all the bad things about the dorms, that they are going to be small and crowded,
cramped kind of stuff but thankfully none of it was true when I came here. So I am really
excited about that.
My favorite part probably the Late Nite at Binghamton, that was cool, it showed like
that there was more to Binghamton than just the education.
Orientation has been fabulous, I am just totally impressed with everything, totally happy with
everything, I am excited for my daughter I think she do very well here because what I
have been told they really care about the students and they want everybody to succeed.
It reinforces the fact that everyone is all in the same boat and it kind of eases your
fears about the transition in to college.
All in all, I am having fun and I’ve met a lot of new people, I got a really good feeling
for the campus, so I think I had a good time.
