Presentation 1: Checkerboard
You need two cream of vegetable soups of contrasting colors – for example, a cream of carrot and a cream of broccoli or green asparagus. Pour the cream of carrot into a soup bowl.
Draw 3 vertical lines of cream of broccoli from top to bottom. You can use a soup spoon, a bottle with a pour spout, or a piping bag, depending on your skill.
Presentation 2: a child’s head
Turn the soup bowl 90°. The three lines are now horizontal. Draw 3 more vertical lines from top to bottom. You get a checkerboard effect.
Create the contrasting squares by sprinkling a little paprika on alternate squares.
In the other squares, sprinkle a little finely chopped parsley.
It’s best to use a bottle with a pouring spout or a piping bag with a small plain tip, because this work requires more precision.
Onto the cream of carrot soup, draw two large circles to create eyes, using the cream of broccoli.
A large line to draw the mouth, following the curve of the bowl.
And a vertical line for the nose.
Make 4 lines near the top, going onto the edge of the bowl to suggest hair.
Make a little oval in the bottom of each circle (eye) to make the pupil.
Finish the face with a tuft of chives to give the impression of disheveled hair.
