Walking through this vineyard, it's a beautiful sight...
and I'm quietly proud that we've succeeded.
Here in The Netherlands it's important to harvest those grapes at the last possible moment.
Because they will never ripen as fully as in France or further away places.
Older family members were the first to say:
'Are you sure you want to give up your steady job for an uncertain future?'
At first, it wasn't about wine. It was more about the feeling, the atmosphere...
you sensed when you walked through a vineyard.
According to the French you cannot make wine from hybrid grape varieties.
But what I'm proud of the most is that we make award-winning wines.
The Netherlands will have to get used to a different taste!
