This place is amazing
For the best view turn to the left
Then you will see a man and woman wearing Ottoman style clothes you can take a photo with them
Or you can wear same style of clothes to be like a sultan or sultana
The Basilica Cistern is one of the biggest water tank under the ground in old Istanbul
It was built in the 6 century in the reign Emperor Byzantine
Justinian first , and its very near to AyaSophia about 150 meter
It is about 9800 square meter , it contains 336 columns
It consists of 12 rows of columns each one has 28 column
the distance between all column is equal
this place has been repaired many times and recently restored
Muhammad (camera) will show us the water which contains fish and coins
these coins have stories , some of the visitors made a wish and throw one coin on to the water
in the north west we can see two columns on the base which looks like a head of a woman
there are many stories , the first one said that this head belonged to Medusa
who was a good woman with special powers
in order to protect her domain she had the power to turn people into stone , she had hair like snake
second story said that Medusa was a very beautiful girl with black eyes and long hair
she loved Perseus which is one of the Greek gods mythology
on the same time Athina also loved Persus , she had a magic forces which effected Medusa by converting here hair to snakes
after that when she looked at anyone they would become stone
but when Persus saw his love like this he cut her head
then he used here head as a weapon in his fighting by converting his enemies to stone
