My role in this project is to integrate the research findings in our project into a mobile
phone ap on the Android devices.
My role in the project is to look at how people actually use these devices to communication.
Were going to interview lots of people who use these devices about their perception of
how their synthesized voice represents them as a person and their personality.
I am researching the use of synthesized speech on film, in art and in commerce. Im really
interested in how synthesized speech has affected the way that we all view communication disability.
At the same time and in a much broader way, Im wondering how has speech synthesis also
shaped the way that people make decisions about who counts as human and whos discounted
or even considered inhuman or nonhuman.
