This video shows how to install substrate edge holders on the HP Latex 3000 printer.
Substrate edge holders prevent substrate edges from lifting up and jamming while printing.
The edge holders are highly recommended when printing on textile substrates.
First, open the front door. Insert the edge holder on the platen at the
substrate's edge. The blue end of the edge holder labeled no.
1 goes at the front of the platen. While the end which contains the magnet will be attached
at the back of the platen. Attach the edge holder labeled 1 to the front
of the platen by sliding the cutout on the underside of the edge holder onto the small
ledge of the platen. Make sure the edge holder is lying flat.
Next, repeat this process on the other edge of the substrate.
Go to the back of the printer. Unlock and open the loading table.
Pull the back half of the edge holder towards you, and attach it to the rear of the platen.
A built-in magnet helps to position the edge holder correctly on the platen
Repeat this process for the second edge holder. Place the edge holder carefully.
Close the loading table and relock the latches. Return to the front of the printer.
The edge holders should remain perfectly straight; otherwise they could damage the printheads
and carriage. Make sure the edge of the substrate aligns
with the small marks on the edge holders. Once installed, an edge holder cannot be slid
sideways. If you want to move it sideways, you must
remove it and reinstall it in the new position. When the edge holders are installed and aligned
properly, close the front door of the printer. The printer is now ready to print.
