If you're going to take classes in a far off country, why not get credit for all those
hours?
Just because you're on an approved program does not necessarily mean your
classes are all approved for credit. In order to earn the equivalent of four
Davidson course credits, the courses you choose need to consist of fourteen to
seventeen transferable semester hours.
Once you've chosen the classes you hope to take, fill out the authorization to
transfer credit form, and bring it to the registrar's office for review.
The classes you put down do not have to be your final choices, just your current
preferences, so go ahead and get this form turned in as early as possible.
If you change your mind once you are abroad,
just email the registrar right away.
They're really good about responding quickly.
As for actually taking the courses, even though they come back as ungraded, you
still need a C- or better.
So no slacking off. If you hope to get major or minor credit, be sure to talk
with the department chair before you leave.
You won't know for sure if you get major or minor credit until you return, so be sure
to bring all your coursework back with you,
and bring the grade home.
