Team Wild is loud and proud of what it does and the people we represent. So when we recieve
5 new Steed trucks from one of our key sponsors, Great Wall Motors, we thought w'ed customise
them a little. Well, actually a lot.
The make-over is done at Raccoon vehicle Branding, a company which covers or wraps anything.
From supercars to ice-cream vans, their designs can transform a new vehicle, or breathe new life
into an old one.
And all the designs are created and printed on site at their workshop at Edenbridge in
Kent.
There's kind of distinct markets for vehicle wrapping , you've got your commercial customer,
he might have a van or vans and wants to get his business promoted.
You've then got the whole personalisation market as we call it, customers a little bit
more brave with their thinking, they really want to stand out and that's where designs
like the Realtree pattern you see behind us comes into it. People want to personalise
their cars nowadays and vehicle wrapping is a very very quick and clean way of doing that.
As these trucks are going off road, the wrap has added benefits too.
These trucks are going to be going down country lanes, across fields, if you imagine the abuse
the paintwork would normally get, that paintwork is protected. So it's another great thing
about vehicle wrapping.
To cover a truck like the Steed takes a couple of guys a couple of days. Freddie's working
on a truck being wrapped in Realtree AP for Simon Barr, sporting journalist, head of Realtree's
UK Pro-staff and business development director for Team Wild.
To start off we prepare the vehicle, that means stripping off everything that comes
off nice and easy. We're not mechanics so we don't strip everything off, but whatever
comes of easy, badges, lights, wing mirrors soforward. And the other thing most importantly
is to get it cleaned, clean and degreased because everything shows up and if you don't
have a clean surface it won't stick to it, especially edges, recesses things like that.
Fred and Dan are making sure the finish is as good as any paint job. Of the five trucks
being collected this week the first one's ready to strike a pose of the Realtree covered
Steeds. His and hers, or maybe not?
SImon needs to drive Selena's pink one up to Calmarsh, which makes my day.
Yeah, I'd say that is most probably the most eye-catching vehicle wrap I have ever seen.
If we don't have at least 1000 girls at Calmarsh have their picture taken next to that truck,
I'd be extremely surprised.
I think I might drive it down to Brighton next week end.
It would deifinitely suit you Simon, you've got that kind of walk about you. That car
is so cool, even I would drive it.
I think it definitely suit you.
I think it matches Wildy more than me or you to be honest with you.
So what do the guys think of their new pimped out Realtree rides.
Yeah, definitley ready for turning heads I think. The car does a briliant job at showing
people the different patterns that Realtree have, and hopefully girls will see it's a
bit of fun and want one of these trucks as well. And wrap it in Realtree pink.
Are you a pink sort of girl?
I'm a Realtree kind of girl.
Great Wall are marketing this very much for the shooting industry, this is a perfect truck
for cleater, picker up, gamekeeper, a deer stalker and having the link with Realtree
is an absolute perfect marriage for them. It kind of demonstrates it's a lifestyle,
it's an aspirational thing, Realtree it's not just about camouflage and it's part of
a hunting family and thats very much where this car is marketed towards. So I think it
works very well in Realtree, and I think you know, on a sensible note that is a very sensible
alignment of two companies coming together.
So it's really good, I'm really really happy with how it looks.
So the guys are happy with theirs, and I'm over the moon with mine.
So this is my Great Wall Steed, now I've asked the guys at Raccoon Vehicle Branding to do
something that really brings out the spirit of Team Wild. Calm, sophisticated, something
shy and retiring...and this is what they've come up with.
And you have to say, it's pretty striking.
Now I've been using one of these Great Wall Steeds for about two weeks now, and I've been
surprised at the quality of the drive, the specification at the equivalent level is unbelievable
for a car that costs £14,000 or just under. But this really is something special.
Do you think anybody will notice me? The sports utility back here is one of the
options that can be fitted, it doesn't come as standard on the Steed SE. Plenty of space
in there, I must buy more guns.
Of course, the obligatory Realtree logo, these guys are my partners, the most important part
of my hunting kit of course and as you can see there is a Realtree AP background here
too.
Even the glass, even this cool, angry buck on here, you can see out through the window.
The guys here at Raccoon don't only just do wraps for trucks of this nature, they also
do the Gumball Rally and supercars and Bugatti Veyrons and Porshes so the guys know how
to do a pretty nice job.
So am I pleased? This rocks!
So I said there were 5 trucks being wrapped, so what about the other two?
Well there are three amigos in Team WIld, and Steve and Keith also need to get their
hands on their branded chariot. So it's another trip to Kent.
Love them though they do, the new Great Wall Steeds look phenomenal, but Steve and Keith
have been asking when they're going to get their Team Wild branded versions of these.
I've got to keep them away from this incredibly expensive wrap Mercedes, it's heading for
the Gumball Rally in the states and doesn't need the fuller figured members of Team Wild
leaving their mark on it.
Or getting near the keys.
Oi you two! Out!
Oh man.
Steves exit is less 'Dukes of Hazzard' and more 'Free Willy'
Suppose you'll want that then.
Back to the trucks, and I thought mine looked good, but three Team Wild Great Wall Steeds
are seriously going to turn heads.
The design work and overall finish by Raccoon is incredible, it's just a shame our handwriting
isn't quite as neat.
So what you see before you is the new fleet of Team Wild Great Wall Steeds, now if you
don't know who Team Wild are, it's Keith Anderson, Ian Harford and Steve Wild.
But if you check the signatures you'd believe we have Keith Conderson, Len Hereford and
Susan Boyle.
Len, Len Hereford, it's not really me. but it's got a ring to it.
So are Steve and Keith made up with their new sporting vehicles?
Very eye catching, all the graphics, lots of branding very, very good.
Last time we were out we got pulled by the police, so we're in a vehicle now that is
a little bit less conspicous than the one we were in before, so we'll probably try and
get away with it this time.
They've developed the angry buck into it and they've put the whole wrap on it and it's
just really eye catching and effective.
Time for the three of us to hit the road, and start speading the word.
