Welcome to the library, we’re here to help you with a range of resources and services
to help you succeed in your studies. Libraries are zoned, with a variety of spaces
for group and silent study. There are library staff at library counters
to help you with your enquiries and make appointments with your academic liaison librarian for more
detailed queries. “I definitely recommend contacting your
academic liaison librarian, their a valuable source of information if you can’t find
a book for example they will be able to recommend an alternative for you. They are subject specialists
in their area.” Why not visit the library subject page supporting
your course to find out what your academic liaison librarian can do for you.
You can borrow up to fifteen books at a time, and all book stock can be located by using
Library Search to identify the call number. “I tend to use journals a lot there is quite
an extensive collection of journals over here, it really helps to keep in touch with the
latest news and information. Some of them are quite dated they go back to the first
editions which really help for writing essays and finding information that is quite old.”
E-journals can also be accessed online via Library Search.
Self-service machines in the library are there for you to issue, renew and return your books.
“The E-library search has a function where you can reserve and renew your books online
which is actually quite helpful, that means that I don’t have to bring the books in
and then renew them and them take them back, I can just stay at home and do it without
having to come in.” Printing, photocopying and computers are available
in the library. There is also wireless access across all University
campuses. Information about library resources and services
is available in print at the library and online on the Library & IT webpages.
Free library and IT training details can be located on the library & IT training page.
Getting the best from our service will help you succeed.
“All in all its just an amazing experience.”
