Today on this 2011 Toyota Sienna we are going to show you how to install a Yakima RailGrab
roof rack system. Once you have the crossbars and towers assembled, we can go ahead and
fit them on our Sienna. With the Sienna, we will be using the medium size claw one notch
below the second hash mark. Once we have the crossbar in place and we made sure that our
overhang is even, we can go ahead and tighten the system down. The black Allen head bolt
will tighten the clamp against the side rail. The silver bolt will tighten the crossbars
to our RailGrab towers. We will tighten both the driver and passenger side evenly, making
sure that we do not bump our crossbar and move it out of alignment. Once we have tightened
both bolts on both sides of the Sienna, we can go ahead and install our second crossbar.
0:47 Yakima recommends a maximum crossbar spread
of 34 inches from the center of the front to the center of the rear. So we need to make
sure that we do not exceed this measurement. You can add Yakimas SKS lock core system to
your RailGrab system to secure it to your factory cross rails. Today we are using Yakimas
48 inch long crossbars. However, if you need longer bars, it is recommended that you do
not exceed the width of the vehicle at its side view mirrors. The width of our Sienna
measures 89 inches from mirror to mirror. So, we want to make sure that if we do go
with bigger crossbars we do not exceed that measurement. The roof rack system has added
about 2 inches to the top of our side rail. That is it for the Yakima RailGrab system
on our 2011 Toyota Sienna.
