I don’t know how we did it, but we all survived Judgment Day.
Last Saturday, I think the workout was tougher than the actual… pending doom that was supposed
to come at six o’clock. But we’ve made it to this week and I think
it got me at thinking, if we had to protect ourselves, if we had to survive for Judgment
Day, could we apply that same concept to our bodies? And I wanted to put together a little
series here that I call “ Bulletproof your body”, and we’ll kind of take certain
muscle groups one at a time and say if you’re gonna try to make not only games in that area
but you get stronger, how could you keep is as injury free as possible .
There’s a lot of trainers on YouTube, there’s a lot of trainers around here guys that will
tell you that there’s just certain thing that make me shave my head, but in other fact
the other day I saw someone recommending a good morning exercise for somebody, and that
might be good for about 5% of the population, the other 95% if they already don’t have
a back problem they’ll develop one because of that, so I say let’s develop it, let’s
go after this one body part at time, and I wanna start today with biceps , shoulders,
because a lot of you guys concentrate on that because of the summer as well . Anyone wants
to have their arms looking better. I have a variation of the curl that I do,
called a “No money Curl”. No when I’m talking about what “No money”
it … we have our regular curls, here, that we see in here, and that’s ok but you can’t
just do those in isolation, because what happens is: Your bicep …there’s two tendons by,
two tendons in the bicep, one there is a long head tendon that actually attaches up in the
shoulder so you don’t just get motion at the bicep by bending your elbow, it actually
works your shoulder join as well. So, what you wanna do is, you know that if
you overwork your biceps you’re gonna impact your shoulder at the same time. Anatomically
there’s no way around that so we’re gonna tend to be internally rotating like this,
ok? That’s most guy’s posture. The more we work our shoulders, our chest, everything
gets internally rotated. We tend to ignore the rotator cuff, so if we can get a external
rotation into our shoulders, we’re gonna be able to combat the tendencies to come forward,
the tendencies to develop some bicep problems. So, I call the “No money Curl” because
the position is basically like I got no money. You know, your hands are out to the side I
got no money, as someone came to rob you and you put your hands out, guys I can’t help
you I have no money. That’s the same position you wanna be in and if you combine it, you
curl and you come out. So, at the top we got extra rotation of the
shoulder, real good position here of the shoulder joint, we’re still working the biceps as
you can see , there’s no doubt, so I come down the front, up , externally rotate and
curl at the same time, ok? So.. down …. Externally rotate ….. and
come down. So that little combination, this is a bulletproof
your body, bulletproof bicep exercise right here, because we are gonna protect the shoulder
joint at the same time that we are obviously developing our arms.
So, even by turning to the side, you can see the position of the shoulder here. External
rotation, we’ve engaged the rotator cuff back there. If we don’t we just curl off
this way, that’s what’s gonna look like we come here and we rotate out we can see
how that rotator cuff here is activated. So, basically, guys, this all series here,
we’re to go through and talk about other areas. Your knees, your hips, your ankles,
you know? Things that affects your ankles at the ground are gonna screw up your back
if you don’t wanna address them. It may even screw up your shoulder believe it or
not, if you have problems out your ankles down meeting the ground.
So, I’m excited about the series, guys. if you haven’t already, you wanna get on
a program that doesn’t just build you up and brake you down at the same time, but builds
