What is a motion for temporary orders? Hi. I’m Eric Engel, a Seattle divorce lawyer
with the Engel Law Group here in Seattle, Washington. Motions for temporary orders are
some of the most common motions that we see here in Washington state. A motion for temporary
orders usually means that a party is asking the court to make an initial determination
of who should get custody of the children. How much and what debts should be paid – and
by whom. Whether or not child support should be paid, whether or not spousal maintenance
should be paid. All of these things are decided on a motion for temporary orders. Now if you
find yourself in a situation where you’ve been served with a motion for temporary orders,
it’s very important that you carefully review the material that’s contained in the motion.
These are the sorts of problems with deal with every day. If you need help in responding
to a motion for temporary orders, give us a call. I’m Eric Engel, thanks for watching
my video.
