Everyone likes something new! Creating a new document can be exciting! After all, this
is your chance to start something fresh and new from scratch! When you first open Word
2007 you see a blank canvas that looks like a white sheet of paper.
This is called a New, Blank document. But, what if you had another document in front
of you that was not blank? How would you start a New, Blank document? You would start by
clicking on the Microsoft Office Button, clicking on New, and the New Document dialogue box
appears. From here we can decide whether we want to
start from a Blank document, an Installed template on our computer, or templates from
Microsoft Office Online. Installed Templates are pre-designed documents
that are stored on your computer that you don't have to download from online.
Online templates are pre-designed documents that you can download for free from the Microsoft
Office Online website. I'm feeling creative so I'm going to start
a New, Blank document! All I have to do is select Blank document from the New Document
dialogue box and click Create. Creating a new document in Word is easy, go
ahead and give it a try!
