In this tutorial, I will show you how to reply to discussion threads. I have logged into
my student account in Blackboard. From my classes homepage, I will now click the discussion
link. We are now at the discussion board page. There are several forums for individual threads
organized around a particular subject. The forum title "Assignment Question" is where
students and instructors share concerns about assignments. Click this link.
Threads are listed by dates, recent ones at the top. Select one that interests you.
Click "Blog Ratings". This thread is from a student concerned about
blog ratings for this class. Here you can see the post was made by the student and then
there was a reply by the instructor. I will also submit a reply to the thread because
I found the subject very helpful. So you click "Reply" and a box appears for
you to enter a response. The title is filled in re: blog ratings. You can change the title
by clicking in the box and hitting backspace. I will enter a new subject saying "Thank you".
My response is "I found this post very helpful." You can either change the text or font, underline
or bullet it as you need to. This is the end of my response so I will now click submit.
If I was not done with my response, I can either put it as a save draft and it would
save it for me to work on and come back to later.
Or if I don't want to submit a reply, I can click cancel. In this case I am done with
my post so I will click submit. Success! My thread 'Thank You' was created
and is now able to be viewed by my classmates and instructors.
And that is how you to reply to a thread.
