SHEENA DIMATTEO: Footloose has its world premiere, Beyonce's
"Countdown" controversy, and Just Dance 3
gets a global release.
This is Just Dance for October 13, 2011.
Today is a very special day for DanceOn network because we
are celebrating the 50th episode of this show, our
little corner of YouTube, Just Dance.
We're super excited.
As always, we're bringing you the hottest news in dance, and
we're not stopping any time soon.
Today's hottest story, in my book, is Beyonce's new video
"Countdown" hitting the web.
I absolutely loved the video.
Beyonce's videos are so unexpected.
They're always a surprise.
The editor for this video definitely had their work cut
out for them with all of these boxes, panels, and colors
flashing by.
That had to take forever.
I really love how she went back to brunette.
And there's a lot of close-ups and boxy frames going on.
It reminds me of Andy Warhol.
The dancing is amazing.
I really love it.
Some modern choreography going on.
I think I even saw a double pirouette at some point.
But one thing I know I definitely saw was the Beyonce
baby bump rub, which is coming back.
I'm going to do this in the club.
So just hours after "Countdown" was released, this
huge controversy broke out saying that the Queen Bey and
her creative team completely plagiarized the work of a
famous Belgian choreographer.
So let's check in with Miss P now and get all the details.
MISS P: Beyonce, Beyonce, Beyonce.
Everybody has seen Beyonce's "Countdown" video.
[SINGING "COUNTDOWN"]
Whatever she was saying.
But then I figured out the choreography.
One of the clips is actually from a Belgian choreographer.
And Bey, she has been accused of plagiarism.
I know you pregnant, but you don't have amnesia girl.
I really love "Countdown" and hopefully "Love on Top" is
really good as well.
But Beyonce, quit stealing choreography.
Leggo.
Peace and love.
SHEENA DIMATTEO: Speaking of countdowns, we have all had a
countdown going on for a long time until the day this new
Footloose movie hits our movie theaters.
Well, it is here.
It's happening this weekend.
Just Dance was at the world premiere, walking the red
carpet with choreographer Jamal Sims and the star of the
movie, Kenny Wormald.
JAMAL SIMS: And when I learned from Craig Brewer how he
wanted to approach this one, and that we weren't trying to
change it 100%, I was like, OK, well then that's cool.
I can get into that because I don't believe in trying to
change something that's already been done.
I would love to be able to enhance it or give it a little
fresh fire or fresh fuel.
But that was the way we approached it.
KENNY WORMALD: When I watched Kevin Bacon do the angry dance
when I first saw the film, it instilled so much confidence
in me as a male dancer because I used to get made fun of.
So I look back and think, if I can do that for one kid or two
kids or 1 million kids, then I'm so honored.
And I think we killed that scene.
So I'm proud.
SHEENA DIMATTEO: While we were at the Footloose premiere,
Just Dance bumped into Grace V, international pop star, who
this summer released her music video "When the Lights Go
Down." So she's gorgeous.
She can sing.
She's blond.
She's compared to Lady Gaga, Britney Spears,
and Christina Aguilera.
So you might want to watch the video and see for yourself
what all the fuss is about.
Director Brian Friedman, who you all might know as a
choreographer, really took it home with this video.
The dancing is awesome.
The styles, the costumes, everything about it,
you can't miss it.
You have to go check it out.

SHEENA DIMATTEO: Calling all dance groups, there is still
time to enter the Ovation online One Dance, Once Chance
competition.
You can enter online to win $10,000 for your school plus
national television exposure.
All you have to do is upload a video to enter.
Get some of those routines together, and send them in.
Go to ovationtv.com for rules and details.
Your school might be winning $10,000.
I'm guilty of dancing in my apartment by myself
for hours on end.
And I've got to say, I've already danced through the
entire catalog of Just Dance 1 and Just Dance 2.
Now I'm super excited because Just Dance 3 just came out.
A whole new list of songs, you can play
with up to four players.
There's Beyonce, Katy Perry, Britney
Spears, LMFAO, BOB, Kiss.
Go check it out.
Just Dance 3 is now available for your Wii, Playstation 3,
or Xbox 360.
I grew up a child of the boy band era.
And bands like New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, 'N
Sync, O-Town, 98 Degrees, those posters all graced my
wall when I was a teenager.
But now there's kind of a void in my heart.
And Lance Bass is filling that for me.
He started a new boy band, Heart 2 Heart.
They just dropped a new single, "Facebook Official."
It's really taking me back to middle school, seeing those
boys up there with their hot hairstyles,
choreography dance breaks.
And who could forget the white suits?
I need you guys to go check out "Facebook Official," and
let me know what you think about it below.
So who's been keeping up with Dancing with the Stars?
I know I was a little disappointed last week to see
Kristin Cavallari and my favorite choreographer Mark
Ballas go home.
But there's still some cool choreographers in the game.
Check out DanceOn's new show FYI.
This week, Kingsley and Galen Hooks are going to give you
the recap and all the dirt you need to know about Dancing
with the Stars.
The Muppets movie is going to be dancing onto your big
screen this Thanksgiving, and that is something to be
thankful for.
I'm super excited.
The soundtrack for the new Muppets
movie was just announced.
You're going to hear from Feist, Flight of the
Conchords, Andrew Bird, and many more artists.
Plus how can you not smile watching a group of singing
and dancing Muppets perform Cee-Lo Green's "Forget You"
and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit?"
Bam, that's all folks.
50 episodes.
We're super excited to have you with us.
As always, Favorite, Like, subscribe to DanceOn.
It'll be our 50th episode present.
We'll see you next week.
I'm Sheena DiMatteo.
What, what.
