Hi and welcome back to Kat’s Closet.
Now spring is nearly upon us, so today I’m going to take a sneak peak at the Spring/Summer collections to make sure you’re fully prepared for the season ahead.
I’ll be showing you how to get these three great looks.
I’m going to be kicking off with one of this season’s biggest trends, monochrome.
And lovely Chelsea here is going to help me.
Now monochrome is the easiest way to make a star statement this spring.
It’s all about graphic lines but also adding a few modern lady like touches with a bit of lace.
Now pencil skirts were everywhere last season and the next take on that is the fishtail skirt which creates a really flattering silhouette.
Its fitted at the top and it kicks out with that peplum detail we talked about last season.
Monochrome is all about keeping the styling really simple, but if you do want to add an accessory take a look at this geometric 60s inspired neckpiece. It will take any outfit from work to wow in an instant.
I’ve finished off with these simple black painted courts.
There you’ve got monochrome. It’s sleek, simple and sophisticated but next up, I’ve got something completely different. 14 00:01:47,501 --> 00:01:56,500 Matching prints from head to toe is another big story for the season, but if that seems a little too much for you, choose one key piece like these really gorgeous blue silk print pants.
I’ve dressed the pants down by adding texture and layering.
I started with a really pretty white sequined vest and over the top I have this lightweight blue crochet jumper, finished with a very light washed denim jacket, gladiator sandals and they work beautifully with this outfit.
If you want to accessories, I always think with a blue colour, silver is the perfect match. So I’ve gone for a heavy necklace and an ethnic inspired ring.
There you’ve got my second outfit, very bohemian and very looks looking, but for our final look, I’ve got a great summer dress.
I wanted to give you a taste of the orient with this beautiful bright and bold dress.
Now, the brilliant thing about this piece is that it’s got a gorgeous print, but down the middle is a dark panel which is going elongate your frame and slim you down in an instant.
I’ve accessorized with some summer gold. I’ve pilled it up to the max with bangles, got a chunky necklace, earrings and a ring, giving the whole look a super glamorous twist.
So I hope that has given you a fashion heads up for what’s coming up for next season, but if you would like some more inspiration check out the next film where Darren will be chatting with Matalan’s designers about what’s coming up for the rest of the year.
