I chose Fisher, originally the major I wanted to do was anthropology
which I abandoned immediately
but I came here because I think it was the only college in the area that had an anthropology department
so that’s actually why I chose it. Also because I wanted to stay local
both my siblings went out of state
and it was way more expensive for them
they’re still paying off their debts and they’re like 10 years older than me
so that’s why I chose Fisher

I ended up switching to English and history double major
I really like both those subjects
my concentration in English is in writing and rhetoric
which is why I’m going to grad school now
I just got accepted to Miami in Ohio
with full tuition reimbursement and a graduate assistantship
so I’m getting paid to go to grad school basically
I really like rhetoric because it’s just something that you can get a job in it basically teaching first year writing
it’s just something that I’ve been interested in since I was little
and I chose history for the same reason
I really like studying history and it’s just something that appeals to me
so I chose it based on that
The extracurricular I’ve been involved in, I was involved in
The Angle for a while, I was on their review board
The Angle was our literary magazine, it still is it just hasn’t been running for a few years now
I think but basically I reviewed all the submissions that we made
me and a few other people would decide what goes in and what doesnt
I also was in the Cardinal Courier briefly
that was cool, I wrote a few articles for them, that was fun
And I also was in young voters club, there’s some pretty good memories, I met my girlfriend here freshman year, that was pretty cool
we were playing pool in main stage
so I like that memory obviously, I’ve been with her now for like two and a half years almost
so I like that memory obviously, I’ve been with her now for like two and a half years almost
I think also the memory when I first got, I presented a paper here at an academic conference
for the American Conference for Irish Studies
and I presented that last semester and that was pretty cool
It was really well received, it was a really cool experience. And all the professors afterwards who were attending it
most of them from out of state and one of them was from out of the country, or at least one of them
them and they came up to congratulate me and they said that had they not introduced me as an undergraduate it they would not have though that I was an undergraduate student presenting
so I was pretty happy about that
And I was pretty glad that Fisher gave me the opportunity to present at something like that
that cause I know that a lot of my peers at other colleges haven’t gotten that opportunity
Favorite spot on campus definitely has to be the library
I’m a book worm so I really love just being around all the books just being able to
pick out stuff to read. I kind of like the quietness
just being up where all the books are, the study rooms, I really enjoy going up there
and just being able to get work done and relax and not have to worry about being distracted by something
My years at Fisher in two words probably hard work
It was a lot of hard work definitely
and I guess that kind of makes it sound like it was a drag but it was really fun too
So I suppose I could just say really fun too
but getting a 4.0 and on Deans List and doing that was a lot of hard work
and it was worth it I mean obviously I got into some pretty good grad schools
and it was definitely worth it and it was a lot of hard work
