Hi, I'm Jada Pinkett Smith and I'm proud to help the ILO
in the fight against slavery.
Then, when we think of slavery,
we think of the past... but the truth is that 3 out of every thousand people
in today's world, that is more than 20 million people are in forced labor,
have been trafficked or work in slave-like conditions.
Most of this is happening in Asia, Africa and Latin America, but even
in western industrialized countries,
one in a half million people are being exploited in these ways.
Women, men and children's toil every day in fields. Cutting sugar cane,
making bricks, clothes, sporting goods in bad conditions and without proper pay.
This is wrong...
and has to stop.
The ILO
is the UN agency responsible for the World of Work
and has been helping people out of poverty and exploitation for more than
90 years.
And with our help,
they can do even more.
So, if you feel like i do, that slavery has no place in today's world
help!
