Hi it's Ed! And as you can I see I love the IPAD for technology purposes. One of my top
uses right now is to use it as a communication device. Not just the words up here but I can
program for activities. I can program responses to allow students to have an opportunity to
talk in class and contribute their ideas. Now I necessarily wouldn't write everything
out for them so they have a keyboard to edit and respond to their responses. Specifically
within my exhibition what I utilized a lot of this for is to create and build recipes
and look recipes. AS well if I have directions for a lab or activity. I can take and I can
build in instructions that so that it can be read to the student. So maybe verbally
they understand, but if they are reading their process might be a little deficient. Hi it's
Ed and I want to talk to you about my cookbook for exceptionality. My project is based off
of the fact that food and teaching er cooking and teaching are highly integrated across
all levels. When you cook it's the same thing you're are basing it off of science.your are
coming through and basing things with a factual base but there is an artistry to it as well,
Just like teaching. So I linked a lot of the things together because I love to cook. One
of the things that I discussed in my history and law salsa. Um was that tomatoes were seen
as the fruit of the devil. Just like, and they were outcast just like our individuals
with disabilities. And so for me that was a huge thing to be reminded, that those people
were outcast for a long period of time. It's not right and it's not fair and we have made
great changes. But one of the things that still occurs is that we throw out our names
for individuals with disabilities. The slang terms, the negative terms just like tomatoes
were thrown at people because they were the devils fruit. one of the other things that
I want to talk about is the common core steaks. I'm gonna put this down because it's difficult
for you to see. Common Core Steaks. Common core is designed to really get down to the
quality instruction and not having it be about everything. You don't the Baconator from Wendy's
that's a whole big pile of processed food. To really be beneficial you, want the quality
steak. For me that is common core steaks, a filet mignon is the epitome of the steaks.
You really have it, a high quality meat. That is going to be a great dinner for someone.
And you want to transition that to teaching, is taking that and utilizing it to a great
degree where you know it's a good hearty meal. The ribeye as well with common core steaks.
the ribeye is marbled a marbled ribeye and yes that's fat, but that fat adds flavor,
that fat adds a lot of moisture and tastiness to that steak. And I look at it in science
and technology, the ribeye is essentially what it's all about. You are into integrating
reading and writing into science, technology and math and engineering to a whole new degree
and that makes it great. My head's spinning with all that we have learned. I hope to keep
in contact with you guys. I hope you learned a lot from my video. Have a great night.
