It's Number plates 4 U. Number plates 4 U ..
Yeah, were based in Wednesbury in the West Midlands
Right OK, and how long have you been making number plates?
over 5-6 years! Right OK, is there a high demand for this
classic style number plate? There is at this type of show yeah, and we
do a lot of steam fairs and there a good demand at steam fair.
We advertise in farm magazines and do a lot of work for the tractors for farmers .. old
tractors, So that good business for us.
And what got you into making number plates? The money, [Laughs] .. no just one of a friends
used to do it and they needed some help one weekend and then he packed in so i carried
on. Simple as that really.
Right OK. 2 different types of plates,
These are a sandwich material where the dyes chop away the top layer.
Then we do a different version where it's mail order only,
Which is a solid piece of aluminum which is stamped, painted and baked.
They take a few days to make! So we have male and female dyes ..
.. thats the dyes. So we got the bottom set of dyes and the top
set of dyes, the spacing is dictated by the jig as i said.
You just drop a plate in the middle and let the press do the rest ..
Just press the '1' individually so it squeezes the plates.
One finished plate!
