Hey there!
Five days left!
In my first video, I didn't get to explain exactly what was going on here
and why and how I'm going to Norway.
So here is a little recap!
First, a few things you need to know about me :
I'm French...
May be you noticed "le petit accent".
But I'm also half Dutch.
I traveled already in several countries but last winter
I was in Japan for three months
and that's where I met my friend Al, my Norwegian friend.
I came back to France, we stayed in touch on Facebook
and you know sometimes you have some cliches about countries...
Like for example, for me, Norway was basically this...
But, as we kept on chatting, I grew more and more interested in Norway
and finally decided to go.
But that's where the tricky part starts...
Yes, hello, I'd like to know more about your working guest program
Yes, yes, we actually stopped doing that
Because, you know, there were too few offers
So we just stopped doing that.
If you're not doing it anymore, who should I ask to?
Don't knoooow, and don't really care...
Yeah, so finally I just decided to roll with it.
And there's a trick for Europe...
As I'm already a citizen of a European country
it is way easier to go to another european country.
Though Norway is not a part of the E.U.
it's still part of the economical circle
so that means if I'm looking for a job I don't need a visa
but I have only three months to do that and
then I have to leave the country.
But what I did is, as I am unemployed since the end of the summer
I thought may be it was a good idea to look for a job
right in the country instead of looking for it as I'm in France.
So, for that, in France
and other European countries you can move your unemployment allowance
to another country and look for jobs there
and have counsellors there.
So that's what I did.
And I had to go to the unemployment center.
Pôle Emploi, french people will know what I'm talking about!
And get some kind of class
to export yourself to another country.
It was pretty instructive. They help you build your project.
to go to another country and they make you realize
what is left to do like for health insurance,
for retirement, for all that kind of stuff
you don't usually or you don't have to think about when you're young.
I hope now everything is ready. Next time I see you
I'll be in Norway and I'm pretty excited!
So see you next time, thank you for watching, that was Solange, bye!
Mom! I'm going to Norway!
That's great, honey!
(thinking) What is she doing again?
Pouka!
What? What is it?
I'm going to Norway! Are you happy?
Seriously, does it look like I care? No. Where is my food?
