Hello my name is Andrew Campbell, welcome to AC Silver.
This fine, large and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver epergne / centrepiece
is quite an exceptional example.
It has a plain tapering form with a flared rim onto a bell shaped base.
The base incorporates a very impressive band of pierced decoration with a Chippendale style
shaped border.
The base is struck with full hallmarks which are very clear.
The scrolling arms retain the original flutes; these are also fully hallmarked and have pierced
decoration with a Chippendale style border.
The central screw fit detachable flute has a further flared rim with pierced decoration.
It is struck with part hallmarks as to be expected.
At a weight of 42 troy ounces the centrepiece is an excellent gauge of silver.
Certainly the highlighted features of this exceptional centrepiece make it one that could
be sold with my highest recommendations.
If you require any further information or assistance regarding this exceptional centrepiece,
please do not hesitate to contact us via telephone or email.
