Hello, and welcome to the Financial Aid video tutorial.
I am going to show you how to accept, adjust or cancel your financial aid award
using the University of North Georgia's web page and our Banner system.
I am going to start by opening a web browser and visit the University of North Georgia’s home web page, which is www.ung.edu
Once you are at the homepage, please click on the gold box which says myUNG at the top right hand of the page
Then, simply click on BANNER
Once you have done this you will be taken to a screen that has the BANNER link provided.
Please notice that you will also see an option below to retrieve your UNG network ID and password.
If you do not have your network ID and password, now is a good time to record this information for future use.
When you have the information needed, click on the BANNER link provided and sign in.
Once you are logged in to BANNER, select the Financial Aid tab located at the top of the page
next select the Award Link
Then click on Award for Aid Year
At this time you will select the financial aid year that you would like to view from the drop down box.
Once you have selected the correct year, click Submit
Next, you’ll go to the Accept Award Offer Tab
Here, you have the option to accept, adjust or cancel any award listed.
Federal aid, such as Pell Grant and State Aid such as HOPE Scholarship and Zell Miller Scholarship
are already applied and accepted with no further action needed.
To accept the full amount of all financial aid listed, simply click on “Accept Full Amount All Awards.”
To accept the full amount of a specific award, you will go to the “accept award” column and select “accept” in the drop down box.
If you would like to accept only a partial amount of this loan
just type the amount you would like for the aid year in the “accept partial amount” column
make sure that accept is still selected in the drop down box to the left.
Also,keep in mind you are filling out this for the academic year;
whatever amount you put in the partial amount column will be automatically divided in half over two semesters.
When you are finished, click Submit decision
To decline an award that has been offered, just select “decline” from the drop down box under the “accept award column.
Again, when you are finished, click Submit decision

Your question will be sent to your Financial Aid Counselor who will respond accordingly.
