Ever since I was about five years old,
I started playing tee-ball and that's pretty much when I fell in love with the game and when I wanted to
play pro ball.
My name is Taylor Ahearn
and I'm a varsity baseball player at Saint Augustine High School.
Every day, I'd have to wake up at about 5 o' clock
and I would leave the house
around six to get to school
for 6:30 a.m. workouts. And then,
that's about an hour workout because school starts at 7:45.
After school gets out at two,
have practice for a couple hours,
get home, do homework
get to bed and then
do the same routine the next day.
Nobody has ever really told me that I can't make the pros because
they've known me for a long time and they've seen me play.
Being around all these people,
they kind of have faith in me, so they always push me and believe in me to make it as far as I can.
I've gotten some looks from plenty of schools,
a lot
of D-Is and D-IIs,
all divisions of college. It's very humbling
to feel wanted by different schools because of all the hard work that I've put in everyday.
Mostly sacrifice the hanging out with friends on weekends.
Since I play year-round,
it's kind of time-consuming, but it's worth it
because I'm living the dream. That's what I want to do,
so it's all worth it.
