>>TRISTA: Hi! My name is Trista and I'm with the Bitterroot Public Library.
And in this video, I'm going to go over how to download an ebook to your Kindle.
So the first thing that we're going to want to do is open our web browser.
And we're going to go to montanalibrary2go.org.
And this is MontanaLibrary2Go's homepage.
There are some different categorizations for ebooks that you can search through... some
browsing lists, some top ebooks, and uh...
Before we find a book though I'm going to go ahead and sign into my account.
You can find a book first and then when you go to checkout it will ask you to log in,
but I'm going to go ahead an log in right now.
So I'm going to click on "Account."
I'm going to select the library that I am with, so "Bitterroot Public Library."
I'm going to put our library card number right in there.
And if you're at a computer that is your own personal computer and, uh, you want to have
it remember your log in, you can just check this box here.
I'm going to be doing several videos today so, I want to have to log in every time so
I'm not going to check that box.
But, uh, if it's your home computer, feel free to check this box right here so it remembers
you.
And then I'm going to click "Sign in."
It's going to bring us to our bookshelf which is just kind of an overview of your account.
You can see other books that I have checked out.
You can see where I'm at in my 5 checkout limit.
You can look at holds, or any lists you've set up or change any settings you have.
And so, as I mentioned, on the homepage they have some lists that you can browse.
There's a couple of other ways to look for books, as well.
There's this search box up in the righthand corner.
If we click on this, it opens up, uh, a little bigger.
And it is a keyword search box... You can put in a title, an author, a subject.
It's going to bring back as many results as it can find.
I'm going to actually used this advanced search that's right underneath this.
I'm going to click on "Advanced search."
And it just gives us some more options.
We can look by title or by author. Um... There's some subjects.
I am going to select only "Kindle books" because we are going to be transferring this to our
Kindle.
And I'm going to scroll down and I am going to select this "Only titles with copies available."
MontanaLibrary2Go has gotten pretty popular and uh, you may notice, especially some of
the um... newer books, will have waiting lists for them.
And it can be a little intimidating when you see a waiting list. It may look like it's
huge and you're never going to get the book.
Um, I would really encourage you to try out how long the waiting lists take, because I
think you'll be pleasantly surprised that it actually doesn't take as long as you anticipated.
But, for this video, I need something available right now and so I'm going to check this checkbox
and click on "Search."
And it comes up with a list of search results.
On the lefthand side, there are ways you can filter the results to just be a certain subject
or a certain format.
Um... I like this book right here, "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" so I am going to...
You can either click on the cover or the name underneath.
And it brings us to some information about the book. Some formats, subjects, some, uh,
a little summary, and "Add to wish list."
You can see that it's set to be borrowed for 14 days.
And I can actually change this. If I click on this "Change" it takes me into my settings,
which you can also get to from your bookshelf.
And, uh, you can change the settings to be either 7 or 14 days and I am going to actually
change this to 7 cause I am using this as an example and not going to be reading it.
So, I'm going to click on "Done."
And you can see, now it's changed to 7 days.
I'm going to click on "Borrow."
And it's going to take us back into that bookshelf and now you can see "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire
Hunter" is in my bookshelf.
And if I click on "Download" it brings up, uh, where I can select the format.
This is going on the Kindle, so I'm going to select "Kindle."
And I'm going to select "Confirm and Download."
And, now, it takes us out of MontanaLibrary2Go into Amazon.com.
So, um, as you can see, we are now in Amazon.com.
And, it has some information about the book, and, uh, there's a green box over here on
the righthand side and I'm just going to say, "Get Library book."
And it's asking me to log in so I'm going to go ahead an log in to my account.
And, again, this is not my MontanaLibrary2Go account, this is my Amazon account.
So this is whatever account, um, your Kindle is registered to on Amazon.com.
So, I'm going to sign in.
And it's asking me what device I would like to deliver this to.
So there's a drop-down menu with different devices. I'm going to have it go to my Kindle.
And I'm going to say, "Continue."
And, that's pretty much it!
It's telling me that the next time I am on wifi, it will sync my Kindle and transfer
the book over onto my Kindle.
And, that's it!
