Welcome to a video tutorial on using Brainfuse. This video is part 1 of 10.
Brainfuse is an online tutoring service for students in the UH community college system.
Please keep in mind, Brainfuse is a tutoring service that is there to help you. Not to do your homework.
Here in Part 1 we will give you a broad overview of Brainfuse including how to login to the service
and it's various tools and features. In future parts of this series we will breakdown individual tools and services in more depth.
To enter Brainfuse, your first step is to log into your MyUH Portal.
On this page you will need to enter your MyUH username and password. Then click "Login".
Once you are logged in, please locate on the upper left-hand side the "MyTools" tab and click it.
Before you connect to Brainfuse, you can check the "Hours of Service" for when the live tutors will be available.
Below the Hours of Service, you can access Brainfuse by clicking "Connect Now".
The first thing you will see on the Brainfuse website are three tabs of tools and services you will be able to use.
At the top, is the Brainfuse Navigation Bar which we will discuss now.
If you click on "MyAccount", it'll show you your Brainfuse Username and Password.
With this, you'd be able to go directly onto the Brainfuse website and login.
"MyCalendar" will display your Brainfuse appointments. We will refer to this in our other tutorials.
"My Brainwave" is a fun tool can be used as a personal study aid and note taking tool using the Brainwave Notepad.
We will show you how to create a Brainwave in our "Brainwave Tutorial Video".
By pressing the "Past Sessions" link, you will be able to view sessions you have had with an online tutor.
We will refer back to this in our other tutorials.
"My Cloudpack" is a tool that can be used as an online USB.
Here, you can upload files and edit them.
After you have received help from a tutor, you would click on "Message Center" to view the tutor's feedback.
We will refer to this in our other tutorials.
After you have taken a Brainfuse test, you can review your results on "MyTests" and receive help from a tutor if needed.
This concludes our introduction to Brainfuse tutorial, thank you for watching!
