There are three mines designed for water: The PDM-7 sits just below the surface,
Naval Mine (Moored) somewhere between there and the seabed, and
Naval Mine (Bottom) which is designed for use on the ocean floor.
PDM-7's destroy ships in one hit. They also cause damage to amphibious vehicles, though
I find it takes 2 hits to immobilise and 3 to destroy them.
The Naval Mines are classic explosive traps found in the sea. They can be detonated by
amphibious vehicles and ships provided they're less than 11-12 metres below the surface,
though they don't damage them as they seem to detonate a fair distance away. This will
probably be fixed at some point because for now, these mines are harmless, as you can
see from this clip here. How this got through months of rigorous testing is beyond me.
To set the depth of the moored Naval Mine, you adjust the elevation within the editor,
with 0 being the surface of the water and negative values being lower.
For the 'bottom' Naval Mine, it works in the same way but looks silly if it isn't on the
seabed. Simply set the elevation in the editor to -200, which is deep enough to set it to
the bottom wherever you place it. I hope this helps. Have fun!
