Welcome to the UWS Library video on ‘Using the Library Search Box’.
You can use the Library search box to search on important words (or keywords) from your citation.
For example, to search for resources on ‘Federal Law Reports’, type the words federal law reports in the search box.
By default the results are sorted by relevance.
From the results list, select the resources that are most relevant to your information needs.
The icon against each citation indicates the content type such as book, journal, article, etc.
Use the facets down the left side of the screen to refine your search.
If a resource is available online, it may be available from a number of different vendor platforms.
Select from the list of available platforms.
Use the ‘Send to’ feature to forward a citation via email, export to EndNote (either Desktop or Web), or export a citation to RefWorks.
You can bookmark citations and save them temporarily to your e-Shelf.
Sign in to save bookmarks and searches to e- Shelf, to borrow items, and to manage your library account through My Library.
You can browse or search journals through the ‘Journal A-Z’ link.
You can also search for Course Reserves and Readings by title, author and/or unit number.
For more information please contact the Library in person or online.
