I've been racking up mileage for as long as I can remember. I've been everywhere and seen
everything. It's a great life, but you gotta slow down sometime.
These days, I'm happy to be doing most of my traveling from the comfort of my kitchen.
I'm Vic and I'm convicted.
Hey I'm Vic and this is my mom Linda
Hi there!
Today, we're gonna make some tasty meatless burgers.
I haven't always been a vegetarian. Nowadays I'm not eating any meat at all. Not since
my baby girl was born. Gotta keep the ticker in good shape for her.
Eating less meat can decrease the chances of heart disease.
(Laughs) Yeah, ma!
I know good odds when I hear 'em and meatless is the best bet for me these days.
Anyhoo, let's get down to making some nice tasty burgers.
We've got ourselves an eighth of a cup of chopped onion, quarter of a cup of nice breadcrumbs,
two tablespoons of soy sauce, some pepper--there you go, alright--12 ounces of the Yves ground
round.
Okay, cool. We're gonna mix it up.
There we go, good.
The real way to do it is to dig in, give it a good squashing like that so all the ingredients
become one.
(Laughs) Also, if you've been working on your engine all morning, make sure to wash your
hands!
Ma, the guys I hang with love that taste.
Now, as good as these burgers are on their own, me, I like to kick it up with some nice
spicy horseradish sauce.
So we take--
whoops!
Watch it Ma. 8 ounces of sour cream. 1 tablespoon of hot white horseradish, half a tablespoon
whipping cream, half a teaspoon of hot sauce. Half a teaspoon of--
(Laughs) Worcestershire
Worcestershire sauce, Yeah Ma, I know I know.
Okay. That's about it. Half a teaspoon of salt, dash of pepper. and we mix it all up.
Okay. Let's make some burgers.
Me, I usually make em about the size of my palm. They shrink a little when you cook 'em.
You, half a palm.
You heard the lady. So that's exactly what we're gonna do.
You know, I love this recipe. Real easy to make on the road. Like when I was biking across
Oklahoma? I'd stop at the clubhouse, cook for everybody. They'd let me stay there for
3 days, 4 days.
Very easy. There's two ways you can make these burgers. You could broil em or you could fry
em in a pan using some cooking oil, like we're gonna do.
If you broil em, two to three minutes on each side. Two to three minutes, flip it over,
two to three minutes. Tops! They're ready to roll.
What I like the most about these meatless burgers is you never have to worry about undercooking
em. Just get em a little brown. They're ready to roll.
Okay, now while my mom finishes up the burgers--
No problem
I'm gonna show you how to put them together.
I like to top this classic burger with a slice of fresh tomato, just the right amount of
our spicy horseradish sauce.
And my mom she likes some of this lettuce.
That's why she's so tiny.
Right now, let's get down to my favorite part of cooking, and that's eating.
When it comes to burgers, you can do just about anything you want to do with em. And
you can bring your life experience into it too, like we do here.
Hey, that's really good. It really is!
Okay, until next time. We'll see you again on Convicted.
Bye now!
That's a good burger.
(Laughs) Delicious.
