When China hosted the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games,
they selected EF as the Olympic Official Language Training Supplier.
For the world's most anticipated and popular sporting event,
nothing was left a chance.
EF trained thousands of Olympics Committee, staff,
Chinese judges, interpreters and translators,
to talk to the world in English.
For the Olympics, EF needed to find
a flexible language training solution
that could help improve the English skills
across multiple learner levels.
EF mobilized the best curriculum
and the most engaging teachers for the Olympics.
Hi, I am Zhang Yang from Beijing.
I am a judge for the Beijing Olympics
and am studying English with EF to prepare for my role
in the gymnastics competition.
In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, my job is to cover all information
that relates to the gymnastics competition.
I’m very happy to be here today
and I would like to express my appreciation to EF.
I retired many years ago but
I am studying English to prepare for my role
as a judge – national technical officer (NTO).
I first have to thank the Beijing Olympic Committee
for giving us this great opportunity to learn.
I especially have to thank EF
for creating this great atmosphere for learning.
EF’s teachers are wonderful.
In class, they are active and engaging.
In just a short period of time,
our English skills have improved tremendously.
I want to thank EF for providing this chance to study English
in an amazing learning environment –
the real-life learning opportunities and the talented teachers,
I think that this period of study
has dramatically improved my English abilities.
We are ready!
The Beijing Olympics is considered to be one of China crowning moments in
recent history and EF is proud of played an important role.
