Welcome to a free demonstration sponsored by FauxFlix.net On demand fauxflix.net video
I am using Textureline's Black base and an stainless steel venetian plaster trowel and I am going to apply what I refer to as an overall 100% coat. Apply just thick enough to cover, do not apply to thick.
Textureline is based out of Canada. I like the product, it is their black base and you will see that you can manipulate the form and texture by adjusting pressure and speed to the trowel or you can smooth it out.
for this demonstration I will smooth out the predominate texture leveling the wet material.
The material has now dried and I have changed tools from a trowel to a spatula and I will now place a small amount of Textureline's iridescent acrylic wax in random overlapping strokes.
You can use what ever pattern you like, there are no set rules for pattern. However you should apply the material in a very thin layer.
as I varied my application and stopped at about 80% coverage. I will now use a different color of iridescent Wax and repeat the process.
Now artisticly apply the second color intermittently, or if you prefer a stronger value apply more liberal.
In review: Black base, blue iridescent Wax, cooper iridescent Wax, now again with the blue iridescent Wax.
placement is totally up to the artist, but must be keep random. We have now 3 layers of IR Wax applied very thin. And I will now return to the cooper color and layer over here and there.
Note: A perfectly razor edge is critical to proper appliction. Any blade with imperfection will leave very undesirable marks. Now you should have 100% coverage of the black area.
You can add an element of control to the crevices where you see the colored wax accentuating, by applying the black base coat in a more textured technique.
