MIKE: I'm Mike Aubrey and I'm the spokesperson for FHFA's HARP awareness campaign.
MAN: Rolling
MIKE: Today I'm out making a public service announcement which is part of the HARP awareness
campaign, which will be aired all over the country to let people who are able to qualify
for HARP refis, know that they can qualify for HARP refis.
MIKE: HARP stands for the Home Affordable Refinance Program, which is a program created
by the Federal Housing Finance Agency in order to help underwater homeowners do a refi even
though what they owe on their house is much more than what their home is worth currently.
MIKE: These homeowners are people who live in their houses, they're current on their
payments -- they just can't do a refi because of what they owe compared to what the house
is worth. HARP allows them to do that refi. As much as there have already been several
million people who have taken advantage of doing a HARP refi, there are still people
out there who haven't taken advantage yet.
MIKE: The PSAs that we shot today are going to be seen all over the country on lots of
national media outlets. There will also be radio spots. Finally, there will be print
advertising -- with special focus in the areas hardest hit during the housing crisis and
where the largest number of eligible HARP applicants could be.
MIKE: The one-stop shop to find out everything that you need to know about getting a HARP
refi is at harp.gov. That's H-A-R-P-dot-G-O-V.
