Hello there, I'm Tracy Rhymes again and I wanted to share a little story. It wasn't
funny at the time that the story happened; however, later in life I found the humor in
it. Okay, so, I was in the Army and on this particular day we had a parade some type of
ceremony on the parade field. So that mornin I got up and went to chow, breakfast whatever
with one of my buddies, we sat there, I didn't eat or I ate just a little bit and it was
a really hot day. So me I'm real funny about drinking certain things out of certain cups
cans whatever so I just went and got me a can of ice tea which I loved at that time
and the can was dirty and I ain't have a straw so I wasn't going to drink out of the stra
can til I could clean it. So anyway we walk... walk... walk... get to the parade field and
now it's time to............present the General's flags. And it was really funny because she
and I were both presenting the Generals flags that day so what happened is.......................I
never drank my ice tea. So once you get on the parade field its not like you can put
it in your pocket or something, you have to put it to the side get rid of it. So we're
standing there in the parade rest position; which, if you're in the military you understand
what that means. Its basically your hands behind your back and feet shoulder width apart.
So standing there and then when the Generals come we present the flag. So after the Generals
arrive and the ceremony is going on we're standing there, then all of a sudden, I start
to feel a little little dizzy and I start swaying back and forth and swaying back and
forth and its like uhoh I gotta be careful. So I was like Gee, I on't know, I feel like
I'm gonna pass out. So long story short as she went to grab for me, I fell flat on my
face and I mean flat on my face (laughing) where I went woop and then right after that
I jumped right back up and I went right back to the um parade rest position. And now I'm
I didn't even look around to see who was looking. But apparently everybody saw me. So (laughing)..................................give
me a minute (laughing) because the story is funny now. Wasn't funny then, but its funny
now. So anyway after the ceremony was over off various officers were walking up to me
and I think actually one of the Generals walked up to me and said "don't feel bad, that's
happened to a lot of people before, I understand how you feel" so time passed, I think 2 days
later couple people came into my office and they started falling out flat on their face
after that. Okay wasn't a joke then, but it is hilarious now. So anyway, that's my
little funny story of my Army life, that's our secret for all of you watching take care.
