Welcome to the College of San Mateo Library located
at the upper level of Building Nine. The library supports and needs of its students
by providing human,
material and technical resources that support education
and contribute to the College mission and goals. In this video
we will be introducing the library facilities as well as the physical
and digital resources within this space.
As you enter the building you'll see the lobby for cell phone use
and food consumption. Do note that there is an
accessibility ramp that goes to the ground floor for your convenience.
Between the two doorways in the lobby
there's a bulletin board for library approved postings
you may find opportunities, educational
or cultural events that might be relevant to your interests.
If you are looking for the restrooms
please head towards the ground floor down the stairs at the left hand corner
of the lobby. At the ground floor
as you come down the lobby stairway the restrooms are to your right and down the hall
you'll also find vending machines down here if you need some brain food.
There is also a courtyard
under the shade of the building when you need a change in studying environments
For those who cannot travel via the stairway there's an elevator
inside the building that travels between lobby and ground floor.
As you walk into the Library
you will notice a room to your right. In here you will meet
our three copiers: Gutenberg, Scribe and Merlin.
Note that there are basic office supplies in the room for your convenience.
Once you exit the Copy Room you'll come into the
open library space. Directly across from the Circulation Counter
on your left we have the Reference Desk.
Here our librarians can answer any questions you may have about the library,
it's catalog, or your research.
And do note that the computers around the Reference Desk are public terminals that anyone can use.
